கோட்டயம் மலர் கண்காட்சி Kottayam Flower Show

The Flower Show at Kottayam is held in the month of January every year. Each year the decorations for the event have an unique theme. Flowers and vegetables grown in Kerala are the main attraction during the show. Cultural events are also held in the evenings. Food court set up for the event are a favourite among the crowd. The flower show is conducted by Agri-Horti Cultural Society of Kottayam.

Pazhur Sita Kalyanam பழுவூர் சீதா கல்யாணம்

"சீதா கல்யாணம்” ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஏப்ரல் மாதத்தில்  பழுவூரில்  பக்தி பரவசத்துடன் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. பூஜைகள், பஜனை ஆகியவை நிகழ்வின் பகுதியாகும. பிரபல பாடகர்களும், பஜனை கோஷ்டிகளும் இங்கு பங்கேற்பதில் பெரும் பாக்கியமாக கருதுகின்றனர். இங்கு பங்கேற்றால்   ப்ரார்தனைகள் நிறைவேறும் என்று கருதப்படுகிறது.

The temple's architecture demonstrates a mixture of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese architecture.

This Buddhist temple includes several imposing buildings and is situated not far from the placid waters of Beira Lake on a plot of land that was originally a small hermitage on a piece of marshy land. It has the main features of a Vihara (temple), the Cetiya (Pagada) the Bodhitree, the Vihara Mandiraya, the Seema malaka (assembly hall for monks) and the Relic Chamber. In addition, a museum, a library, a residential hall, a three storeyed Pirivena, educational halls and an alms hall are also on the premises.

Brihadisvara, Temple, தஞ்சைப் பிரகதீசுவரர் கோயில்

தஞ்சைப் பிரகதீசுவரர் கோயில் என்றும், தஞ்சைப் பெரிய கோயில் என்றும் அறியப்படும் தலம் தஞ்சாவூரிலுள்ள சோழ நாடு காவிரி ஆற்றின் தென்கரையில் அமைந்துள்ள திருவிசைப்பா பாடல் பெற்ற சிவன் கோயிலாகும். இக்கோயில் உலகப் பாரம்பரியச் சின்னமும் ஆகும். இந்தியாவில் அமைந்துள்ள மிகப்பெரிய கோவில்களில் இதுவும் ஒன்றாகவும், தமிழர் கட்டிடக்கலைக்கு சான்றாக விளங்கும் இக்கோவில் அற்புதமான கட்டிடக்கலை அம்சத்தைக்கொண்ட இந்தியா கோவில்களில் ஒன்றாகவும் அமைந்துள்ளது. கிபி 10-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் புகழ் பெற்ற தமிழ் மாமன்னர் முதலாம் இராஜராஜ சோழன் இக்கோயிலைக் கட்டுவித்தார். 1003-1004 ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கி 1010 ஆம் ஆண்டு கட்டி முடிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த கோயிலுக்கு 2010 ஆவது ஆண்டோடு 1000 ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவடைந்தன. இக்கோயில் தமிழகத்தின் மிகமுக்கியமான சுற்றுலாத்தலமாக விளங்குகிறது. 1987 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் கல்வி, அறிவியல், பண்பாட்டு நிறுவனத்தால் (UNESCO) உலகப் பாரம்பரியச் சின்னமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
Brihadishvara temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the largest South Indian temples and an exemplary example of a fully realized Dravidian architecture. Built by Tamil king Raja Raja Chola between 1003 and 1010 AD, the temple is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The original monuments of this 11th century temple were built around a moat. It included gopura, the main temple, its massive tower, inscriptions, frescoes and sculptures predominantly related to Shaivism, but also of Vaishnavism and Shaktism traditions of Hinduism. The complex includes shrines for Nandi, Parvati, Kartikeya, Ganesha, Sabhapati, Dakshinamurti, Chandeshvara, Varahi and others. The temple is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu.
